For us, ecology and economy go hand in hand.
We all want an intact environment for ourselves and future generations. All employees in our company take this responsibility into account every day.
Economic corporate management sets the tone - not only for the benefit of our customers, but also for the preservation of our ecosystem. Right from the development stage, we consider the environmental impact on the subsequent production, use and disposal of the products.
- Environmental aspects are taken into account from the outset when planning our production facilities. Simple and clear concepts for the use of energy and materials play their part in this. Energy and water are used sparingly.
- When selecting our suppliers, we also pay attention to their ecological foresight.
- We prefer renewable raw materials such as cotton and cellulose. The use of modern materials such as superabsorbent in incontinence products in turn reduces the consumption of cellulose.
- Bleaching processes for bandages and wadding are always carried out with hydrogen peroxide (oxygen bleaching).

We prefer solvent-free plaster production.
- To test the compatibility of our products, we use cell biological systems wherever possible and do not use animal testing.
- Where plastics are used, we pay attention to their environmental compatibility. Our packaging does not contain PVC.
- We use recycled paper when hygiene and product safety permit.
- The route minimization we practice protects us and our environment from unnecessary pollution caused by truck transports. Inland waterway vessels are our first choice for transportation at home and abroad.
- Our optimized packaging systems pay off during transport due to the reduced material consumption and volume, as well as during the final disposal.

We are involved, in a systematic way, in the cooperation between schools and economy. In this way economic education is integrated, to an increasing degree, into school education. A transfer of knowledge and values takes place. We support a new culture of individual promotion with a view to strengthening basic skills and developing students’ talents on a regional scale. This facilitates the transition from school to professional life. As a MINT partner, we strongly support the school’s concept as MINT-friendly school. We also assist the school paramedics with our product knowledge.

Since the 1970s, we have actively supported the volunteer fire brigade of the city of Wetter/Ruhr with our personnel deployment, employee leave, materials, use of our vehicle fleet workshop and provision of training space on the company premises. We are particularly pleased to highlight the commitment of one of our shareholders, who was awarded the German Fire Brigade Cross of Honour in Gold. In 2022, Mr. Paul Benedikt Danz, the city fire chief, retired from his position as 'Stadtbrandinspetor Wetter (Ruhr)' and at the same time he was relieved of his position as deputy chief of the fire brigade and transferred to the honorary department of the fire brigade Wetter (Ruhr).
